Summary
Responsible for the daily management and direction of production shift operations, with a strong emphasis on filling processes. This role ensures the consistent achievement of key operational objectives—Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Morale—while maintaining high standards for product quality and workplace safety in a plastic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and sustain the Daily Management System for the assigned shift through hands‑on coaching and mentoring of all plant personnel.
- Plan and adjust shift crewing to align with business priorities in Safety, Quality, Cost, Morale, and Customer Service.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including 6S, Best Practices, Zero‑Effort Changeovers (ZEC), Line Layout enhancements, and other Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Develop and execute training plans that enhance the technical aptitude of machine operators, especially in blow molding and filling operations, and promote cross‑training among staff.
- Coordinate and schedule production activities including material verification, production planning, and crew assignments.
- Partner with other departments to ensure smooth execution of production objectives.
- Review and maintain accurate work instructions, ensuring alignment with current procedures and best practices.
- Enforce all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards across the production floor.
- Perform first‑piece audits and setup checklist verifications to ensure equipment and product standards are met.
- Monitor and analyze shift performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Facilitate communication and shift handoffs with other Production Supervisors to maintain operational continuity.
- Investigate all safety and quality incidents and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of Safety and Quality SOPs specific to blow molding and filling processes.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including frequent standing, bending, twisting, and lifting.
- Minimum of 7 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, with hands‑on experience in filling operations.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve production and process issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
- Bilingual abilities is a must.
- Salary Range: $80,000 – $85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
