The Regional Nurse Manager will be responsible for the administration of Nursing services within the region. Directs, plans, and coordinates the service activities and staffing performance of professional nursing and auxiliary nursing personnel in rendering quality patient care. Provides direct patient care.
Responsibilities include:
- Provides direct and indirect skilled nursing care to patients, including assessment and environment
- Patient assessment, clinical and environmental
- Patient and caregiver teaching
- Development and revision of the plan of care
- Skilled nursing care
- Implementation of physician orders
- Monitoring of patient response
- Response to emergency patient needs
- Psychosocial support
- Selects, trains, develops and motivates a highly skilled professional nursing and allied staff
- Assures that departmental staff complete orientation, maintain clinical competence, participate in continuing education, receive counseling and are evaluated in a timely manner
- Oversees the receipt, evaluation, acceptance and execution of the initial patient intake process to assure timely and appropriate patient verification, assessment, teaching and ongoing scheduling of nursing services
- Ensures all patient-related documentation and reports are completed and filed in a timely manner, in support of regulatory requirements and billing
- Participates in planning, decision-making and implementation of all service center activities affecting clinical nursing services and the multidisciplinary team
- Assists in managing a department budget using a modified primary nursing model and ensures other department functions proceed without interruption
- Secures and maintains applicable licensures, certifications, accreditations and employment requirements as required of staff
- Collaborates with the Regional Business Leader and VP of Nursing to develop and evaluate clinical and administrative policies, procedures, programs and systems
- Maintains professional growth and clinical competence
- Adheres to all policies, procedures and standards of conduct
- Reports any known or suspected violations of policies, procedures, regulations or standards of conduct
- Completes managerial tasks for direct reports including hiring, training, addressing performance issues, setting team goals, conducting performance reviews, conflict resolution, and strategic planning
- Must be able to work 100% in office
- Regional role with coverage over Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska
- Must be able to travel to the locations listed above
- Must be able to participate in an on-call rotation
- Must be knowledgeable and have used IV access devices including IV lines, accessing ports, and administration of infusion medications
- Must be able to provide infusions to patients in their homes as well as the infusion suite as needed
- Experience as a Nurse Manager/Regional Nurse Manager in a Specialty Infusion Pharmacy is preferred
- Must have a multistate RN license for Illinois in good standing or willingness to obtain
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN or MSN preferred
- Current RN Licensure by the applicable state boards, in good standing — Illinois
- Minimum 5 years Nursing practice in a related specialty such as home infusion and/or specialty infusion, home health, oncology, nutrition support, IV therapy or critical care
- Minimum 5 years Pediatric Nursing experience ideal
