Responsibilities

The Regional Nurse Manager will be responsible for the administration of nursing services within the region, directing, planning, and coordinating staff performance and quality patient care. Key duties include:

  • Provide direct and indirect skilled nursing care, including patient assessment, teaching, and development of care plans.
  • Implement physician orders and monitor patient response.
  • Respond to emergency patient needs and provide psychosocial support.
  • Select, train, develop, and motivate a highly skilled nursing and allied staff.
  • Ensure orientation, clinical competence, continuing education, counseling, and timely evaluations of staff.
  • Oversee the initial patient intake process, ensuring verification, assessment, teaching, and scheduling of nursing services.
  • Ensure accurate completion of patient documentation and reporting, complying with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in planning and decision‑making for all service center activities affecting clinical nursing services.
  • Manage the department budget using a modified primary nursing model.
  • Maintain all necessary licensures, certifications, accreditations, and employment requirements for staff and the department.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Business Leader and VP of Nursing to develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Report violations of policies, procedures, or regulations to appropriate management.
  • Complete managerial tasks for direct reports, including hiring, training, performance management, and strategic planning.
Schedule
  • Work 100% in‑office.
  • Mon‑Fri 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, 40 hours per week with flexibility.
  • Coverage of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska.
  • Travel to listed locations required.
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation.
  • Proficient with IV access devices: lines, access ports, and infusion medication administration.
  • Provide in‑home and infusion suite infusions as needed.
  • Experience as a Nurse Manager/Regional Nurse Manager in specialty infusion preferred.
  • Possess a multistate RN license for Illinois in good standing or willingness to obtain it.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a BSN or MSN preferred.
  • Current RN licensure in Illinois, in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of nursing practice in a related specialty (home infusion, specialty infusion, home health, oncology, nutrition support, IV therapy, or critical care).
  • Minimum 5 years of pediatric nursing experience ideal.
  • Clinical expertise in IV therapies and knowledge of all IV lines.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience, with proven ability to train and educate staff on protocols.
  • Ability to work with all employee levels and manage multiple complex projects.
  • Knowledge of vascular access devices and infusion therapies.
  • Knowledge of state‑licensed, non‑certified home health agency regulations.
  • Capability to supervise staff for a licensed home health agency if applicable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Advanced certification such as CRNI or IgCN is a plus.
