Job Overview
Planet Art is looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor to support the company’s Quality department in our Woodridge facility. Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support a team of quality control inspectors across inbound, in-process, and outbound inspection activities.
- Train, coach, and support quality control inspectors to ensure consistent application of inspection methods, quality standards, and operating procedures.
- Monitor team performance and provide feedback to improve accuracy, productivity, accountability, and consistency.
- Assign daily responsibilities and priorities to QA personnel to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient execution of inspection tasks.
- Inspect products received from vendors to ensure the goods meet established specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.
- Monitor, input, and analyze inspection data to identify trends, track performance, and drive achievement of quality metrics.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for systemic quality issues and other product nonconformances.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Production, Sourcing, and Product Development to support daily operations and resolve quality‑related issues.
- Escalate critical quality concerns in a timely manner and collaborate with internal teams to drive effective resolution.
- Identify recurring defects, process gaps, and quality trends, and recommend improvements to reduce repeat issues and improve overall product quality.
- Help maintain accurate quality records and support updates to SOPs, inspection criteria, and other quality documentation.
- Ensure nonconforming materials or products are properly identified, contained, and communicated to prevent downstream issues.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, respect, accountability, and integrity in support of company values.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- 2+ years of quality assurance or quality control experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment.
- 1+ years of experience leading, training, or supervising employees in a quality or operations setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to accurately enter, review, and analyze data.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required, with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively across all levels and departments.
- Experience using warehouse management systems;
High Jump WMS experience preferred. - Ability to prioritize work effectively, manage competing demands, meet tight deadlines, and perform well under pressure.
- Ability to analyze information, identify issues, and support corrective actions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and apply quality standards consistently.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Work is performed in a fast‑paced warehouse environment with exposure to heavy machinery, dust, fluctuating temperatures and moderate noise levels.
- Position involves working around machinery with moving parts.
- The position may require alternating shifts, depending on volume.
- Position requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
- Position requires movement of items from machinery to other locations.
- Position requires regular handling of materials, packaging, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending.
- Frequent sustained walking and/or standing for prolonged periods of time.
The compensation range for this position is $19 - $20 hourly rate.
