Shipping Clerk

Description

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment:
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Will maintain updated schedule of customer deliveries to appropriate departments.

• Must be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers.
• Support the shipment of goods produced and received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base
• Perform job operations utilizing SAP management system
• Prepare ASN's
• May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments
• Responsible to make arrangements for pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.
• Responsible for contacting customer to arrange for deliveries and prepare driver paperwork.
• Required to monitor the performance of forklift drivers and ensure inspections are performed on a daily basis.
• Required to prepare daily loads for staging, including pallet placards, bill of landings, pick tickets and shipping stickers.
