Senior Pipe Stress Engineer

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Pipe Stress Engineer opportunity in Ogden, UT.

Per diem is available for those who qualify.

Perform pipe stress analysis using Auto Pipe. Coordinate with Pipe Support Engineers and Layout personnel as required.

• Perform pipe stress analysis of systems in accordance with ASMEB
  31.3 Code.
• Model piping systems to verify piping flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads.
• Work closely with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to deliver a quality and cost‑effective design. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
• Working knowledge of dynamic analysis and ASME B31.3 or B31.1 Codes.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
• Participate in reviews and recommend approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements.
• Analyze problems with conflicting design requirements, sketch ideas and possible solutions.
• Analyze and report on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques, and/or difficult coordination requirements.
• Coordinate plant design engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction, and other functional groups.

• Level I:
  Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience, or 9-12 years of relevant work experience without a degree.
• Level II:
  Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 12-14 years of relevant work experience without a degree.
• EIT certification or PE registration preferred.
• Previous Bechtel and/or DOD/DOE project experience preferred.
  
  Must be able to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment, education, and travel.
• Working knowledge of dynamic analysis and ASME B31.3 or B31.1 Codes.
• Prior experience using pipe stress analysis program Bentley Auto Pipe.

• Must be a United States Citizen.
