Masis Professional Group is recruiting for an Electrical Software Engineer on behalf of our client located in Woodstock, CT. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

The Electrical Software Engineer acts as the principal for the firmware component of a hardware design. They will work in unison with the hardware design team to create firmware and test system functionality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Electrical Software Engineer
  • Designs electrical equipment, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
  • Designs and directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products.
  • Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial uses.
  • Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
  • Directs and coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
Competencies of the Electrical Software Engineer
  • Must have expert knowledge of embedded software and firmware development, including C and C++.
  • Ability to read schematics and debug digital hardware using oscilloscope, logic analyzer, or similar tools for troubleshooting.
  • Expert knowledge integrating software and hardware using embedded data bus protocols, UART, CAN, SPI, 12C for Microchip, Nordic Semi and ST Micro microcontrollers.
  • Experience parsing and assembling of packets for use over the serial data ports on a system that has no RTos.
  • Wireless experience including Zigbee and BLE.
  • Expert level experience with Microchip embedded tools.
