The HR Controller serves as a key liaison between HR and Finance, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strategic workforce cost planning in a construction industry environment.
- Oversee payroll accounting, accruals, and reconciliations using Quick Books Online
- Partner with HR leadership on compensation and benefits cost analysis, particularly for field and project‑based employees
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and internal controls
- Develop and maintain HR‑related financial reporting and forecasting models
- Support audits related to payroll, benefits, and employee‑related expenses
- Analyze workforce metrics to support strategic decision‑making across construction operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or advanced degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance with exposure to HR or payroll functions
- Experience supporting the construction industry or similar project‑based environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, benefits accounting, and compliance requirements
- Experience working with Quick Books Online or similar accounting platforms
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner cross‑functionally
