The Warehouse Manager oversees all warehouse operations at Kirk-Rudy, Inc., ensuring efficient receipt, storage, staging, and distribution of parts, equipment, and materials used in manufacturing and service operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory, optimizing warehouse workflows, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting production and service teams with timely, accurate supply fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations- Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, picking, packing, put-away, shipping, and cycle counting.
- Ensure all incoming materials are inspected, logged, and stored according to company standards.
- Maintain organized and efficient layout for raw materials, ink, parts, and finished goods.
- Develop and enforce operational procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage inventory levels to support manufacturing schedules, service operations, and ink/parts sales.
- Oversee cycle counts and root-cause analysis for variances.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Service, and Production to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Ensure proper labeling, location management, and control of serialized and critical components.
- Direct all outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy, proper documents, and on-time carrier scheduling.
- Oversee import/export compliance as required (commercial invoices, HTS codes, packing lists).
- Maintain relationships with freight carriers, parcel services, and LTL providers.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate warehouse associates.
- Establish daily goals and monitor productivity.
- Promote a positive, safety-focused work environment.
- Enforce OSHA and company-specific safety policies.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Maintain clean, hazard-free warehouse conditions.
- Analyze workflows and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and cost reduction.
- Partner with IT and Operations to improve Syspro usage for warehouse functions (bin management, MRP, inventory transactions, etc.).
- Lead warehouse-related continuous improvement initiatives.
- 5–10 years of warehouse management or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and warehouse best practices.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Syspro experience highly preferred).
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift certification preferred).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial equipment environments.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Manufacturing Management
- Military logistics background may be considered equivalent to formal education depending on experience.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and freight/logistics management.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement background.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
