There are multiple IMRF part‑time positions available at Creekside Middle School for the 2025‑2026 school year. Positions vary from 6 to 6.75 hours per day, five days per week. The hourly rate is $18.10 per hour, with some positions offering an additional $1 per hour for personal hygiene duties. Positions of 6.5 hours or more qualify for health and dental insurance.

A paraprofessional license from the Illinois State Board of Education is required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Paraprofessional license from the Illinois State Board of Education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with staff, promoting a positive team‑work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to read, write, interpret and comprehend simple instructions and routine reports.
  • Basic mathematical skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, ratios and percentages.
  • Reasoning ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions and solve straightforward problems.
  • Physical ability to reach, stand, walk, sit, lift or move up to 50 pounds and perform tasks such as assisting with personal hygiene and transportation.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required).
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work environment is typically loud; tasks require frequent reaching, lifting, walking, standing, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee may need to spend up to 35 minutes standing in a swimming pool and perform tasks that involve close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Instructional and Behavioral Needs
    • Work with individual students or small groups under the supervision of a certified staff member to reinforce material introduced by the staff.
    • Provide additional practice and cues, deliver consequences for targeted behaviors, and create opportunities for academic and social interaction.
    • Assist in developing and implementing behavior intervention plans and IEP goals.
    • Help modify general education materials and support classroom instruction.
  • Physical and Adaptive Needs
    • Assist students in daily living tasks such as removing outerwear, using the lavatory, moving from room to room, and eating.
    • Provide physical assistance including transportation to classes, helping with personal hygiene, setting up adaptive equipment, assisting with feeding skills, and lifting students.
    • Assist students during emergency drills, field trips, and in the swimming pool.
  • Students with Limited English Proficiency
    • Provide oral and written translation as directed.
  • General Responsibilities
    • Participate in the IEP Team, maintaining communication and supporting the attainment of IEP goals.
    • Supervise students for safety when outside the classroom.
    • Communicate with staff, parents, support services, and students.
    • Maintain anecdotal notes and progress reports.
    • Assist in transitions and promote inclusive interactions.
    • Participate in staff development activities.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by the certified staff member or building administrator.
    • Protect confidentiality of district records, student records, and information in accordance with Illinois education statutes and privacy acts.
  • References must be provided. Be sure to confirm that all employment conditions comply with the agreement between the Woodstock School Related Personnel, Local 1642, IFT/AFT, and the Woodstock CUSD #200 Board of Education.
