Harrison School District 36 is seeking a full-time School Psychologist. Qualifications include a master's degree with a valid Illinois PEL and approved program/endorsement for School Psychologist. Candidates should complete required forms and report findings at the Eligibility Review meeting, lead discussions to determine eligibility for Special Education and Related Services, maintain accurate documentation, and work as a team member. Previous experience with elementary age and middle school students is preferred.
Performance responsibilities include knowledge and experience of federal and state rules and regulations related to special education services, applying ethics and standards of professional practice in the delivery of school psychological services, using assessment data to develop appropriate interventions, participating in professional associations and learning opportunities, identifying and assessing the learning, development and adjustment characteristics and needs of individuals and groups, reporting test data and observations for students, coordinating IEP team meetings, collaborating with teachers regarding learning or behavioral concerns, assisting teachers in establishing behavioral management programs, serving as a member of the Student Support Team, leading student team in completion of Functional Behavior Assessment and development of Behavior Intervention Plan, providing direct individual and group counseling services, and communicating effectively with students, parents and school staff.
