SALARY RANGE: $35.00 - $40.00/Hour
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Lead Service Technician is a senior-level technical position responsible for providing reliable, high-quality service and maintenance to the cooperative’s energy customers and equipment. This position serves as a technical leader within the Energy Department, providing hands-on troubleshooting, installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of propane, petroleum, and related energy equipment.
The Lead Service Technician is expected to lead by example, maintain a strong commitment to safety, provide excellent customer service, and assist in developing the skills and capabilities of other service technicians. This position works closely with Energy Sales, Operations, Delivery, and Management to ensure customers receive safe, dependable, and timely service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for providing high-quality service, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of petroleum and related energy equipment for residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial customers.
Technical leader for the Energy Department, providing guidance, training, and support to service technicians while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and professionally.
Responsible for managing the service process from the initial customer request through scheduling, field completion, documentation, and billing. This includes prioritizing service calls, coordinating technician schedules, monitoring open work orders, reviewing labor, parts, materials, and customer information for accuracy, and ensuring completed work orders are processed promptly for billing.
Responsible for managing service parts and inventory, including maintaining appropriate inventory levels, tracking parts usage, ordering and receiving materials, conducting inventory counts, and ensuring parts are properly documented and available when needed.
Provide excellent customer service, communicate equipment issues and repair recommendations to customers, identify additional customer needs, and communicate sales opportunities to the appropriate Energy Sales representative.
Assist management with technician training, service department productivity, inventory control, safety, process improvement, and other operational initiatives.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Follows Conserv FS’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to safely operate tractor trailer and to meet company and DOT standards.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have or have the ability to obtain and maintain a CDL license with required endorsements and any other applicable certification, license or permit, valid medical card and satisfactory driving record, as applicable.
Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.
Must be able to obtain and maintain other applicable certifications, licenses, and permits.
