Rate of Pay:
Part Time RN $41.00
Part Time LPN $34.00
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Administers and documents medications and treatments according to physician's orders; observes residents for reactions and side effects; observes functional levels of clients; notes changes in physical or mental condition and reports changes to physician as necessary.
* Interacts with residents and their family members to respond to issues or questions.
* Performs I.V. monitoring and venipuncture; provides skilled nursing services, diagnostic, and preventive procedures.
* Monitors and inspects nursing units. Insures that proper procedures are adhered to by resident staff and initiates corrective action as necessary.
* Participate in the assessment of resident equipment and supply needs.
* Interact with staff, administration and other shift personnel to provide shift reports or exchange information and efficiently accomplish work assignments; reviews shift reports and other nursing records. Implements appropriate follow-up action on reported information.
* Completes nursing records and reports to include documenting the amount and type of care rendered; maintains case files by performing appropriate charting and writing summaries.
* Counsels residents and family members regarding nursing care needs, contraindicated measures, and related problems.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
* Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or school of nursing.
* One or more years of progressively responsible related experience.
Licenses and
Certifications:
* Licensed Nurse
* C.P.R. Certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
* Medications and their indicated uses.
* Principles and practices of nursing services and direct patient care.
* Signs of neglect or abuse.
* Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
* Federal, state, and local rules and regulations related to the area of assignment.
Skill in:
* Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Providing patient care, diagnosis and treatment within the scope of nursing requirements.
* Interviewing clients to elicit relevant information.
* Using tact, discretion, initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
* Preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials.
* Organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up assignments with a minimum of direction.
