Join a leading clean energy and industrial manufacturing organization as a Project Engineer
, responsible for leading capital engineering projects that improve plant safety, reliability, and operational performance. This role combines project management with technical engineering expertise, overseeing projects from planning through execution while collaborating with operations, maintenance, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Lead medium to large capital engineering projects from concept through completion.
- Manage project planning, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and performance tracking.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Champion environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance throughout all project phases.
- Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM), Management of Change (MOC), and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and other process safety initiatives.
- Provide technical support for new equipment installation, fabrication, inspections, and refurbishment.
- Lead root cause analyses and failure investigations, implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor project risks, timelines, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Communicate project status, technical issues, and risks to stakeholders and leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement through project management best practices and stage-gate methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or another related engineering discipline (ABET-accredited preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing capital projects or project engineering initiatives.
- Knowledge of industrial safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA, EPA, PSM, and MOC.
- Strong understanding of project management principles; PMP certification or training is advantageous.
- Experience collaborating with operations, maintenance, contractors, suppliers, and engineering teams.
- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications;
AutoCAD experience is beneficial.
- Capital project delivery within heavy industrial, chemical, manufacturing, energy, or process plant environments.
- Construction oversight and field execution experience.
- Knowledge of rotating equipment and industrial plant systems.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and engineering investigations.
