Salary Range: Monthly pay $9,075.24, annual salary $104,714 - $136,000.

The Mechanic Heavy Equipment (Traveling) position involves maintaining and repairing critical machinery across various locations, ensuring operational efficiency and safety by minimizing equipment downtime.
Full‑time position. Monthly pay based on current union agreement. Shifts Monday through Friday (10‑hour shifts), with overtime after ten hours. Possible alternating shifts, starting times, nights, on‑call, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair the fleet of equipment operated by BNSF.
- Disassemble, repair, modify, manufacture, overhaul, and troubleshoot roadway maintenance equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems and fuel systems.
- Operate equipment and use a variety of manual, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools, including welders and cutting torches.
- Perform daily work in a safety‑sensitive environment with extreme weather conditions and other hazards.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Ability to work safely in the above working conditions.
- Ability to work the above shift, hours, and travel requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs occasionally.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License;
Class A required on 60 days. - Ability to distinguish colors and hear verbal signals.
- Minimum 2 years verifiable mechanical work experience or training.
- Minimum 1 year verifiable training or experience with gasoline and diesel engines on large equipment.
- Minimum 3 months verifiable training or experience with electrical and/or gas welding.
- Minimum 1 year verifiable training or experience with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic diagrams and schematics.
- Physical ability to use hand tools, climb ladders, lift, bend, walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
Union membership: International Association of Machinists (IAM); union dues required per agreement.
