Tax Reviewer

Job Description Responsibilities

• Part-time position for an experienced tax reviewer.
• Familiarity with forms 1040, 1120-S, 1065, 990, 1041 needed.
• Reviews individual, trust, and business tax returns for accuracy and completeness.
• Resolves errors and obtains missing information through correspondence.
• Communicates effectively with staff to build their skill set.
• Submits tax forms on behalf of clients to pay appropriate tax and maximize their benefits.
• Applies knowledge of tax credits, deductions, and current legislation.
• Interviews clients about their income and expenses, and gathers account details.
• Acts as a liaison between clients and the IRS.
• Assists in IRS and state audits, and advises clients on best practices.
• Reviews quarterly and annual tax compliance returns.
• Ensures tax returns are filed in accordance with industry best practices and certain IRS publications.
• Utilizes technical skills to locate and correct discrepancies.
• Provides direction and feedback to staff on engagement deliverables.
• Demonstrates proficient technical skills for handling client responsibilities and communication.
• Reviews simple to complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, and businesses.
• Services clients directly as necessary.

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent field.
• CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA) or Master's degree in Taxation required.
• 8+ years of technical tax experience in public accounting or related fields, 3+ years in a managerial role.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Strong operational and project management skills needed.
• Proficient use of applicable technology and related tax software.
• Familiarity with CCH Axcess, CCH Document Management and Workflow, My1040
  
  Tool Kit, Quickbooks Online, TValue, Google Business Suite and Microsoft Office required.
