Business Development Manager

Parkinson Technologies, Inc. has immediate openings for a Business Development Manager. The selected individual will be responsible for identifying and capturing business development opportunities. The Business Development Manager will report to the CEO and will interface with all departments within the company, as well as outside marketing services.

• Identify and capture business development opportunities:
  • Develop strategic marketing perspective through market analysis
  • Active industry conference attendee/participant
  • Identify/develop/present industry paper presentations
  • Promote pilot lab to develop technology-based relationships
  • Formulate partnership agreements
  • Capture/monetize technology development…
    • Improvements in ongoing equipment design
    • Exclusive intellectual property content
  • Develop and extend relationships into equipment sales potential
  • Identify/substantiate internal R&D initiatives and generate implementation roadmap
• Manage pilot lab commercial efforts:
  • Customer R&D trial scheduling
  • Customer/program confidentiality agreements
  • Revenue generation & pricing management

• 5-10 year’s experience in the plastics sheet/film industry. Experience should include a combination of internal, team-based projects and direct customer interaction from any or a combination of the following industry areas:
  • Resin manufacturer:
    Market development or technical sales role focused on resin development for commercial sheet/film applications
  • Equipment manufacturer:
    Sales, marketing or business development role focused on large-scale extrusion or sheet/film processing machinery
• Plastics Processor/Converter:
  Product/process development role focused on developing, optimizing or specifying material and process equipment capabilities for market applications
• Demonstrated ability to identify unmet market needs, build solid business cases and engage customers
• Excellent communicator with a consultative, value-selling approach to building external relationships
• High energy, self-reliant and high degree of initiative
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to develop, prioritize and drive multiple projects forward
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office programs and document and presentation preparation
• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
• Not required, but a plus: MBA or recent coursework in business or marketing;
  Spanish language fluency.
