Position Summary
CVS Health’s Enterprise Procurement department, part of the Shared Services Finance organization, is seeking a Sourcing Category Manager responsible for IT Category Management (Infrastructure, Cloud/SaaS, Software, Healthcare Platform) indirect spend. The role drives P&L value, develops sourcing strategies, builds a pipeline of opportunities, and leads major sourcing events. The Sourcing Category Manager will also represent procurement on large‑scale strategic initiatives such as process transformation and acquisition integration.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain short, medium, and long‑term category sourcing plans, spend profiles, and pipeline.
- Schedule and maintain cadence of regularly scheduled sourcing category reviews and planning sessions with key leaders within the assigned business area; establish self as category sourcing expert.
- Guide analysts on sourcing activities to ensure successful execution of RFx events for the category.
- Quantify and deliver against savings targets for the category.
- Lead execution of high‑complexity, high‑spend, or highly visible sourcing events.
- Educate business partners on policies, processes, and the value proposition of Strategic Sourcing.
- Maintain status reports of all completed, active, and planned sourcing activities for strategic review.
- Communicate Strategic Sourcing’s value proposition and goals to key leaders and stakeholders.
- Use spend analytics, market intelligence, and contract reporting to continuously build a pipeline of sourcing opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships with CVS Health’s business and vendor‑management teams and engage early on prospective engagements requiring vendor support.
- Work with stakeholders to develop bid strategies and create scope of work documents for competitive bid processes.
- Promote the use of preferred suppliers to leverage the enterprise’s scale for greater value.
- Collaborate with the contracting team to identify new and creative contracting approaches with vendor partners.
Hybrid position based out of Woonsocket, RI;
Hartford, CT;
Northbrook, IL; or Scottsdale, AZ. Required to be in office 2 days a week. Ability to travel up to 15% for supplier presentations, site visits, and key department meetings.
- 7+ years of professional experience in Sourcing & Category Management, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Analytics, Project Management, Technology, or Management Consulting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, Economics, Supply‑Chain, Finance, Accounting, Technology, or a related field (equivalent experience acceptable). MBA or Master’s Degree a plus.
- Strong communicator with enterprise‑level mindset and proven ability to build relationships with business leaders and stakeholders.
- Experience managing large indirect spend portfolios (e.g., $12B+ across IT and non‑IT categories).
Base salary range: $75,400.00 – $ per year, depending on experience, education, geography, and other factors. Eligible for bonus, commission, short‑term incentive, and equity award programs.
