RISE Prep Academies is a college preparatory K-12 public charter school network based in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, where college preparation begins in Kindergarten. Approved by the Rhode Island Board of Education in October 2014, we opened our doors to our founding class of kindergarteners in August 2015 and our founding High School class in August 2024. Through a rigorous curriculum, highly structured learning environment, and character education, RISE Prep Academies ensures that all Kindergarten through 12th grade scholars achieve the academic skills, content knowledge, and character required for the path to college or career.

The primary role of the Math Teacher is to provide high-quality, grade-level instruction in Grades 5–8.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Implement RISE Prep Academies Academic Program to ensure strong proficiency in grade-level literacy and math
- Internalize and implement high-quality, standards-aligned curriculum and instructional materials grounded in CCSS for Grades 5-8 Math
- Provide access to grade-level materials with targeted supports, scaffolds, and interventions to meet diverse learner needs
- Differentiate instruction and provide accommodations; adapt curricular resources for scholars with IEPs, 504 plans, and multilingual learners
- Foster a joyful, structured learning environment
- Establish clear expectations, routines, and procedures to manage behavior and maximize instructional time
- Implement school-wide systems and morning meeting/advisory structures aligned to the school’s vision
- Use data to inform instruction and monitor scholar progress
- Engage in cycles of data collection, review, action planning, and progress monitoring with coaches and teams
- Utilize formative and summative assessments to drive instructional planning and provide feedback
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development
- Collaborate with staff and participate in training to increase impact as an educator
- Communicate with families and colleagues about scholar progress
- Collaborate with co-teachers and grade/content teams to support scholars
- Participate in field trips, intensive academic support sessions, and other required programs outside the standard day when needed
- Required:
Bachelor’s Degree - Current teaching certification or enrollment coursework leading to teaching certification
- Enrollment or completion of required Science of Reading training per Rhode Island Rights to Read Act
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication
- Technological proficiency and comfort with online platforms
- Preferred:
Experience with high-quality instructional materials (e.g., Eureka Math, Wit & Wisdom, Amplify Science, Study Sync, Illustrative Math) - Familiarity with Teach Like a Champion and other effective instructional practices; prior teaching experience with measurable results
