An educational opportunity is available for Special Education Teachers to work with elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. This contract position offers 30 to 32.5 hours per week during the school year, providing direct support to young learners with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students unique learning requirements.
- Deliver specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom environment focused on elementary-aged students.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants to ensure comprehensive support and positive learning experiences.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies to meet educational goals.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student growth and engagement.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure for Special Education teaching.
- Experience working with elementary students in a special education setting.
Ability to collaborate effectively with support staff and other educators. - Strong organizational skills and commitment to individualized student success.
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues.
