Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: North Providence, Rhode Island
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in North Providence, Rhode Island. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities, helping them to achieve their academic and developmental goals. This position involves working collaboratively with other educators, parents, and support staff to ensure that each student receives the support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in collaboration with parents and other team members.
- Provide direct instruction to students, adapting curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
- Assess students' progress regularly and modify instructional plans as needed to promote growth and achievement.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure that students with disabilities are included in the general education curriculum to the maximum extent appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance, as required by state and federal regulations.
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and other school-related meetings as necessary.
- Stay current on best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution.
- Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.

- Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) certification in Special Education.
