Location: Central Falls, Rhode Island

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Central Falls, Rhode Island. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially. This position involves collaborating with colleagues, parents, and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in collaboration with parents and other educators.
  • Provide direct instruction to students, using evidence-based practices and instructional strategies tailored to meet their individual needs.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional plans as necessary to ensure they are meeting their academic and developmental goals.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support the inclusion of students with disabilities in the general education curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance, as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and other school-related meetings as necessary.
  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution.
  • Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Required Licensure and Certifications
  • Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) certification in Special Education.
