Beacon Charter Schools Founders Academy at Beacon is located in Woonsocket, Rhode Island and serves 168 student artists from across the state.

Job Description: The Learning Lab Teacher is a specialized instructional role dedicated to driving student achievement through targeted academic intervention. Operating within the school’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, the educator designs and delivers Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions during the school day.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing academic tutoring with a focus on mathematics.
• Teaching intervention classes and groups to close foundational learning gaps and scaffold core curriculum concepts.
• Explicitly teaching essential executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, and study habits to build lifelong academic self‑efficacy.
• Creating a trauma‑sensitive space for students who may struggle with emotional regulation and ensuring continuity of education outside the general classroom.

• Strong, standards‑based lesson planning and development skills.

• Commitment to being a participating team member.

Qualifications:

• Active Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) teaching certificate appropriate for the middle grades.
• Preference given to educators holding Middle Grades or Secondary Mathematics certification and/or possessing a proven track record of successful math intervention experience.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
