The Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at Wellesley College invites applications for a full‑time tenure‑track position at the level of assistant professor in Sexuality Studies, Queer Studies, and Trans Studies. Candidates should center an intersectional approach in their work and teaching. The position involves a four‑course‑per‑year teaching load, and the minimum salary for assistant professors is $ annually.

Responsibilities

Teach introductory courses in Women’s and Gender Studies, Queer Studies, and Trans Studies, demonstrating excellence in teaching across a breadth of interests appropriate to a liberal arts undergraduate institution. Engage in scholarly research and service commensurate with the tenure‑track track.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant field, with a record of scholarship in intersectional sexuality or gender studies. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a commitment to the department’s mission are essential.
