Reporting directly to the Director of the Doctoring Program, the Clinical Curriculum Specialist designs and maintains the operational workflows necessary for clinical curriculum delivery and clinical assessment data management. Working with the Director of Clinical Curriculum, the Director of Doctoring and the Assessment and Evaluation team, this Clinical Skills Specialist contributes expertise in curricular content to manage and develop processes, data collection and reporting required for student evaluations and competency progression, program evaluation, and accreditation across the clinical curriculum.
This includes providing direct problem solving for OASIS data requests and developing standardized training materials for the administrators and clerkship coordinators to ensure consistent, high quality data collection across the clinical curriculum. The position also includes direct problem solving and management of specific requests for data reports within OASIS.The Clinical Skills Specialist also provides high-level support to the Doctoring Program, Clinical Skills Clerkship (CSC), and clerkships, including OSCEs and clinical skills training sessions in Clinical Skills Simulation Center (CSSC) in conjunction with the Director of the Clinical Skills and Simulation Center, Doctoring course leaders and Clerkship Directors.
A primary responsibility involves the independent planning, execution and managing of scrub training, dermatology training, and gyn/gu training which requires close collaboration with clinical faculty, Records and Registration, and outside departments including Brown University Health’s nursing leadership and clinical departments.
Additionally, the Clinical Skills Specialist onboards and trains administrators and clerkship coordinators who administer the clinical curriculum and run sessions. This position ensures student clinical sites are well resourced by managing student site credentialing, maintaining adequate clinical site capacity and ensuring that clinical faculty who teach in the clinical curriculum have faculty appointments. In partnership with the Office of Academic Support, this role ensures that Doctoring and clerkship OSCE accommodations are identified and communicated consistently to relevant stakeholders.
The Clinical Curriculum Specialist will also provide back-up for clerkship shelf exam proctoring and various IT platforms within the clinical curriculum.
Finally, the Specialist oversees the Doctoring Program’s fiscal health by managing budgets and inventory, reviewing vendor contracts for policy compliance, and handling all billing records and financial reconciliations.
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
Required:
Demonstrated experience navigating and managing complex student assessment, evaluation, or scheduling systems—(e.g OASIS, Shiftboard, Learning Space, Canvas, Qualtrics or Exam Soft or similar preferable)
Direct experience working within a higher education setting, institutional infrastructure, or medical education program (Office of Medical Education) strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience independently planning and executing large-scale, multi-stakeholder academic events or clinical training simulations (e.g., OSCEs, standardized patient sessions) is highly advantageous.

Exceptional interpersonal skills to liaise effectively between senior leadership, clinical faculty across multiple institutions, clinical affiliates, and a high volume of students
Excellent computer and technological skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
A meticulous approach to managing sensitive student credentialing records, faculty academic appointments, and high-stakes testing accommodations while maintaining strict confidentiality and policy compliance.
