Riverzedge Arts uses innovative applied and work-based learning strategies to teach art, design, and critical thinking to the youth of northern RI, providing our participants as well as our community with a path to economic and cultural sustainability. We provide real-life context and training that prepares youth for professional opportunities and provides them with the skills they need to shape their communities through productive civic engagement.

The Digital Art Studio Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with the Arts Education Director to fulfill the mission of Riverzedge Arts Project and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Rhode Island (BGCNRI). The Digital Art Studio Coordinator is responsible for balancing the demands related to production of internal and external communication; marketing collateral for Riverzedge Arts and the BGCNRI; and client commissions with the provision of high-quality arts education to teen Studio Apprentices.

The artist in this role works directly with youth in on-site programming, maintaining the physical and cultural dimensions of their studio to ensure a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and empowering space in which youth participants learn foundational principles of art and design thinking. Additionally, the Digital Art Studio Coordinator trains Studio Apprentices to work collaboratively with their peers as well as experienced professional artists to produce client commissions.

• Work with the staff of Riverzedge Arts Project and the BGCNRI to increase participation and membership opportunities for people throughout northern Rhode Isalnd;
• Plan, develop, supervise, and implement day and evening program activities and curriculum;
• Complete and maintain required program records such as attendance, daily schedules, meals, and all rosters;
• Make ongoing systematic observations and evaluations of each youth participant;
• Teach community classes and workshops on assigned evenings and/or weekends;
• Assist with the promotion of programs within the community;
• Meet weekly with Arts Education Director to discuss youth participant progress; and
• Meet weekly with BGCNRI Chief Development Officer to plan external communication and marketing strategy

• Must be 21+ and have a degree in art from an accredited institution OR equivalent experience as a working artist in two or more artistic media.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience working with youth people, preferably in a community-based setting.
• Facility with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite Cloud, specifically Photoshop and Premier
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to attain a RI Chauffeurs License.
• Must successfully pass all BCI requirements;
• Must be or become certified in First Aid and CPR
• Proven experience with general arts education instruction.
• Required to sit, stand, talk, or hear; via computer, telephone, or in person as needed.
• Frequently required to engage in active play with children, including bending, reaching, running, and participating in age-appropriate physical activities
• Must be able to lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
• May be required to work indoors and outdoors in varying environment conditions.
• Five (5) Days PTO, increasing in accordance with BGCNRI Policy
