This role partners closely with site operations, maintenance teams, and engineering resources to plan and execute inspections, support outages, and implement maintenance strategies that reduce failures and improve overall plant reliability.

This is a field-focused position with significant travel and direct involvement in outage execution, inspections, and technical assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review inspection results and provide clear recommendations to facility leadership during and after outages
  • Prepare condition assessment reports and executive summaries, including risk prioritization and maintenance recommendations
  • Support development of long-term maintenance planning and lifecycle strategies for boiler components
  • Review pressure part replacement scopes and coordinate with vendors to ensure quality, specifications, and delivery requirements are met
  • Oversee and participate in QA/QC inspections, including shop inspections and field verification
  • Coordinate inspections of related systems including scrubbers, baghouses, and flue gas ductwork
  • Partner with engineering and corporate teams on material evaluations, standards, and improvement initiatives
  • Maintain and analyze historical equipment data to support reliability improvements and failure reduction strategies
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience in boiler systems, maintenance, or project management
  • 1-3+ years of relevant experience preferred, with flexibility based on capability and exposure
  • Experience supporting outages, inspections, repairs, or maintenance in an industrial or power generation environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and mechanical documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate risk and prioritize actions
  • Effective communication skills, including ability to summarize technical findings for multiple audiences
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with AutoCAD or similar tools is a plus
Work Environment
  • Primarily field-based in industrial plant environments, including boiler and associated systems
  • Requires use of PPE and ability to work in confined space and elevated areas
  • Frequent travel to support outages, inspections, and maintenance activities
  • Occasional off-shift and weekend work required to support outage schedules
