Occupational Therapist

Job Summary

Advinia Care Oakland Grove is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team! As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload. You will also participate in the clinical team process, provide teaching and training to caregiver staff, and supervise other therapists, assistants, aides, and students as required.

• Screens patients/residents and evaluates them to develop appropriate care plans
• Provides direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care
• Consults with and trains patients/residents and caregivers
• Documents activities according to the company's clinical documentation system on a timely basis
• Participates in clinical program development and implementation
• Participates in the training and orientation of other staff, students, and volunteers
• Participates in census building and marketing activities
• Demonstrates ability for continuous new learning to remain current in the field
• Complies with facility privacy practices policies and procedures and protects residents' individual health information
• May perform additional duties as requested by supervisor

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy
• CEUs per state licensure requirements
• Must possess an OT license in Rhode Island, or be in the process of obtaining one
• Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary
• Communication skills required for directing staff, customer relations, and marketing activities
• Ability to perform documentation needs, manipulations of equipment, and direct patient care
• Requires intense attention and concentration
• Ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time effectively for self and others
• Ability to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds
• Ability to articulate and comprehend the English language

• 20 hours per week
