Salary: $91,465 - $119,341

Responsibilities
  • Screen, evaluate, and provide appropriate services to students with communication disorders (articulation, voice, language, and fluency) and help each student reach her/his maximum potential.
  • Administer speech and language screening procedures; evaluate the speech and language of referred students and report findings to the qualified professional team.
  • Utilize a variety of formal and informal measures to evaluate communication disorders; write clear, objective evaluations.
  • Develop behaviorally stated goals and objectives for each student based on evaluative data.
  • Implement and periodically evaluate the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for each student; maintain a regular speech‑language program.
  • Participate in the qualified professional team and IEP team, contributing findings, collaborating on IEP development, and diagnosing eligibility in accordance with district, federal, and state regulations.
  • Log services for Medicaid billing, use the web‑based IEP system, and participate in time studies for administrative Medicaid claiming.
  • Adhere to all legal requirements for students with disabilities.
  • Maintain a web‑based portfolio for case loaded students as appropriate.
  • Proficient in the language of instruction.
  • Allocate reasonable time for observation, testing, case management, and paperwork associated with service delivery.
  • Assess, identify, and maintain assistive technology equipment and supplies to meet IEP goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, caregivers, and staff to implement and integrate therapy strategies across all settings.
  • Participate in problem‑solving teams to identify at‑risk students, design evidence‑based interventions, and monitor progress.
  • Develop individual or group activities to address speech, language, or swallowing disorders.
  • Document observational notes in student portfolios.
  • Attend scheduled professional meetings and in‑service or professional growth activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to screen, evaluate, diagnose, and remediate communication disorders in students aged 3‑21 years; develop and implement appropriate goals, objectives, and therapeutic materials (required).
  • Two years of experience as a speech‑language pathologist (preferred).
  • Commitment to working with students who have limited access to quality educational opportunities (required).
  • Experience in a public school setting (preferred).
  • Experience in an urban school setting (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Deep commitment to developing and contributing to a community of educators.
Certification Requirements
  • PK‑12 Speech‑Language Pathologist certification.
  • ESL certification (preferred).
  • Master’s or equivalent in Speech‑Language Pathology.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary ranging from $91,465 to $119,341 based on experience.
