GCP data engineer

Requirements

• 4-6 years of relevant professional experience
• Proficient in developing data pipelines using Dataflow, and able to integrate with Composer/Airflow or similar scheduler components
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform; certification is preferred
• Experience with relational databases such as Spanner, Oracle, Postgre
  
  SQL, etc.
• Knowledge of data warehouse databases, specifically Big Query
• Competence in building and deploying services using Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, etc., within a CI/CD framework
• Understanding of OLTP and data warehouse data models
• Capability to comprehend requirements and assess data models
• Basic understanding of data architecture principles is beneficial
• Familiarity with replication technologies such as Goldengate, Shareplex, Streamsets, Striim, etc., is a plus
• Knowledge of ETL products and handling structured and unstructured data
• Experience with bulk loads and streaming load integration is advantageous
• Strong skills in designing, developing, and implementing custom software and database applications with minimal oversight
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate design discussions and foster collaborative relationships within the team
• Commitment to supporting teammates and promoting a successful project environment

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a team of engineers to produce clean and high-performing code
• Implement quality assurance practices including unit testing and conducting code reviews
• Optimize the application to meet non-functional requirements
• Construct and deploy components as part of the CI/CD pipeline
• Oversee the entire application delivery process, coordinating with necessary teams for production deployment
• Continuously monitor application performance and health metrics, assisting in the resolution of any production issues as needed
• Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues, features, services, and platforms, performing root cause analyses to proactively address operational challenges
• Advocate for and promote security best practices within the engineering team
