PositionSummary
The Legal Counsel - Privacy position will fill a critical legal need for the company by providing strategic legal counsel to internal business partners with respect to Federal and state healthcare and privacy regulations and laws. You will proactively advise business partners on a wide variety of legal matters related to pharmacy and pharma services, data analytics, health insights, and other health services solutions.
In this role, you will identify business and legal risks and work with the business to provide solutions which balance legal compliance and business objectives.
- Ability to synthesize and apply multiple regulatory frameworks to business activities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 5+ years of legal experience with a law firm, healthcare or retail company focused on issues related to privacy, data protection, or related regulatory matters (e.g., HIPAA, CCPA or GDPR).
- 3+ years of analytical skills and strong legal project management and facilitation skills.
- Admitted to practice law in good standing in at least one state.
- Contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Experience advising on payor, plan, or provider activities.
- Firm or In‑house experience.
Bachelor's Degree;
Juris Doctor.
The typical pay range for this role is: $ - $. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
