PositionSummary
As Legal Counsel, Pharmacy and Consumer Privacy, you will act as legal counsel to our CVS retail businesses. You will be responsible for providing timely and strategic legal counsel to internal business partners with respect to Federal and state healthcare privacy regulations and laws applicable to our pharmacies as well as our retail consumer business. You will proactively advise business partners on a wide variety of matters and work collaboratively with other attorneys and partners on matters related to privacy legal and regulatory compliance.
You will identify business and legal risks and provide solutions to balance risks with business objectives. You will be expected to develop a keen understanding of the business and operational goals of assigned internal clients and work diligently to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients at all levels of the organization.
Your subject matter expertise in privacy, data use, and healthcare will allow you to understand and support the business and operational goals of internal clients across the CVS Health enterprise, including CVS Pharmacy, CVS Specialty, Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy, as well as other cross-enterprise teams and activities.
As part of the CVS Health Legal team, you will gain experience working in a sophisticated and dynamic in-house legal department advising innovative pharmacy and consumer offerings.
ResponsibilitiesIn order to be successful in this role you must exhibit the following:
- Ability to synthesize and apply multiple regulatory frameworks to business activities.
- Analytical skills and strong legal project management and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively effectively and work as a team player.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, initiative, and drive.
- 5+ years of legal experience focused on healthcare privacy laws, preferably involving pharmacies with deep subject matter expertise of privacy laws, including HIPAA and CCPA/CPRA.
- Admitted to practice law in at least one state and member in good standing of applicable state bar association(s).
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Experience as in-house counsel.
- Experience with aspects of healthcare related to provision of pharmacy services.
- Experience with consumer privacy laws and the use of personal information for marketing and advertising purposes.
Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate required.
Pay RangeThe Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $ - $
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
