Claims Director, Professional Liability
Primary Purpose of the Role
:
To manage the technical and operational functions within assigned Professional Liability offices, ensuring compliance with company standards, industry best practices, and quality service delivery. Provides direct operational responsibility for a company office, manages staffing and training, leads staff development, and oversees budget planning and profit‑and‑loss management.
Essential Responsibilities
:
- Oversee overall Professional Liability operations management for assigned locations.
- Establish policy and procedures to assure compliance with best practices, claims management service standards, state regulations, and client service requirements.
- Develop business plans with goals and objectives for the area and offices.
- Monitor management reports related to area/office performance.
- Assist with coordination of sales and client service efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Support the organization’s quality program(s).
- Travel as required.
- Administer company personnel policies in all areas, following staffing standards and training recommendations.
- Interview, hire, and develop colleague performance plans; conduct performance discussions.
- Provide support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to promote maximum performance.
Qualifications
:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; CPCU, ARM, AIM, and/or AIC certifications preferred. - Licenses:
Licenses as required. - Experience:
10 years of related experience, including 7 years in Professional Liability and 4 years in supervisory roles. - Skills:
Strong technical claims knowledge; excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills; PC‑literate with Microsoft Office; leadership, management, and motivational skills; analytical and interpretive skills; strong organizational skills; excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; ability to work in a team environment; ability to meet or exceed performance expectations.

:
