About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a well-established, family-owned manufacturer of scientific test and measurement instruments seeking a Director of Sales in Rhode Island. This organization serves a variety of industries, with a strong focus on pharma, food, water, and industrial markets. The company is privately held, family owned and operated, with its global headquarters based in the U.S. This is for a sales leader who can bring energy, structure, and development to the team.

The right person will know how to lead both outside and inside sales representatives, spend time in the field, and help the team improve performance and hit their numbers.

What You’ll Do

You’ll lead the sales organization with a focus on team development, field support, and sales growth.

Key areas of focus include:
  • Manage 3 direct reports and a total team of approximately 24 people
  • Lead outside and inside sales representatives
  • Develop the sales team to improve performance
  • Help the team hit sales goals and numbers
  • Travel throughout the U.S. as needed
  • Work in the field with the team
  • Support sales efforts across pharma, food, water, and industrial markets
  • Bring structure, accountability, and energy to the sales organization
Who You Are

You are a proven sales leader who knows how to develop people and drive results. You understand the scientific and lab instrument industry and can lead a team that sells technical products into specialized markets. You are comfortable getting out in the field, working directly with sales representatives, and helping the team improve through coaching, support, and accountability. You would do well here if you bring a strong growth mindset, a track record of sales success, and the ability to help a team raise its performance.

Preferred Experience & Attributes
  • Experience managing and developing a sales team in the scientific or lab instrument industry
  • Proven track record of growth and sales success
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Science-related degree preferred
  • Experience leading outside and inside sales representatives
  • Ability to travel throughout the U.S.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
