Position SummaryThe Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that align employees with departmental priorities, initiatives, and organizational goals. This role serves as a key partner to leadership, driving employee engagement, onboarding, training, internal communications, and knowledge management initiatives across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a strategic communicator who can translate complex business initiatives into clear, impactful messaging while leveraging a variety of communication channels, including digital content, video, live events, and print materials. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence communication practices across multiple teams and enhance organizational effectiveness through consistent, engaging communication addition, the Communications Manager will oversee document control and knowledge management processes, ensuring departmental documentation, policies, and procedures remain current, accessible, and compliant with established standards.
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that support departmental and organizational objectives.
- Partner with leadership to create, maintain, and optimize communication platforms and channels.
- Create and distribute internal communications including announcements, presentations, newsletters, videos, and other employee-facing content.
- Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve communication effectiveness and employee engagement.
- Lead engagement initiatives that foster collaboration, connectivity, and team culture.
- Plan and coordinate employee events, recognition programs, and department-wide activities.
- Develop creative approaches to increase employee participation and organizational alignment.
- Measure engagement outcomes and recommend improvements based on feedback and participation metrics.
- Manage onboarding, training, and mentorship programs for new and existing team members.
- Partner with leadership to create engaging educational content and development resources.
- Maintain learning materials and ensure content remains current, relevant, and accessible.
- Support organizational change initiatives through effective communication and training strategies.
- Oversee document control processes and systems across the department.
- Ensure policies, procedures, SOPs, and operational documentation are maintained, reviewed, and updated regularly.
- Establish standards for document management, governance, and compliance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure documentation accuracy and consistency.
- Analyze communication performance, engagement metrics, and employee feedback.
- Conduct lessons learned sessions and identify opportunities to improve future communications and programs.
- Provide recommendations to leadership based on data, trends, and organizational needs.
- Proactively anticipate business changes and develop communication strategies that support organizational readiness.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, organizational communications, marketing communications, or a related field.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong content development and storytelling capabilities.
- Experience developing communication strategies for large or complex organizations.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Experience supporting Program Management Offices (PMO), project management organizations, or corporate operations teams.
- Experience planning and coordinating large-scale employee events and engagement programs.
- Familiarity with design, construction, facilities management, or workplace services environments.
- Knowledge of organizational change management principles.
- Experience managing document control, knowledge management, or governance programs.
