Job Description & Requirements
TNAA Total Med RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR – Operating Room for a travel nursing assignment in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. This position commences 07/06/2026 and lasts 7 weeks at 40 hours per week with 8‑hour day shifts. It is a travel assignment.

As an OR Travel Nurse you will assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, provide pre‑ and post‑surgery care and education, and perform the following tasks:
- Provide basic bedside care.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Serve as the communication liaison between patients’ families and the operating team.
- Ensure the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
- Initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician; teach patients and families how to manage medication and home‑care needs.
Additional duties for Circulating OR Nurses include: responding to comfort and safety needs of patient, accurate care and handling of specimens, monitoring equipment used during surgery, and inventory of surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure.
Additional duties for Scrub OR Nurses include: selection and handling of surgical instruments and supplies during procedures and inventory of surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure.
Additional duties for RN First Assistant include: assisting physicians by delivering direct surgical care, helping control bleeding, and suturing patients following surgery.
Physical requirements:
stand, walk, bend, lean, stoop for long periods; lift 20 pounds routinely, up to 50 pounds when needed; mitigate exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases.
BLS required; 2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse, and/or RN first assistant. Additional certifications may be required prior to assignment.
CompensationPay is based on 8‑hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
