Veterinary Technician
Wakefield, Rhode Island
Washington County Veterinary Hospital is a modern facility surrounded by beaches and inlets, providing exceptional veterinary care. We are expanding our team with a new doctor and are looking for a full‑time, experienced veterinary technician to join our dedicated staff.
Responsibilities- Proper handling and restraining of animals
- Rooming patients and assisting during surgery and surgical recovery
- Placing IV catheters, drawing blood, and running bloodwork
- Positioning animals for x‑ray and operating the equipment
- Using laboratory equipment and maintaining specimen quality
- Providing client education and fostering positive client interactions
- Licensed or registered veterinary technician
- Experience working as a veterinary technician in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of industry tools, equipment, and animal behavior
- Proficiency in animal handling, restraint, and surgical assistance
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Team player with a willingness to continue learning
Salary: Up to $30.00 per hour, based on experience.
Sign‑On Bonus: Eligibility for a bonus up to $5,000.00 for candidates with surgical/anesthesia experience.
