Today, Anduril is executing on multi‑million‑dollar contracts while simultaneously performing Robot‑as‑a‑Service (RaaS) AUV operations.
Aboutthe Job
We are looking for a Quality Control Manager to lead inspection operations at our Quonset, RI facility, with functional oversight of inspection at our Quincy, MA facility. You will own incoming, in‑process, end‑of‑line, and MRB inspection. The team is 6‑10 inspectors today and growing. This is a hands‑on leadership role: you set the standard for how inspection runs, develop the inspectors who execute it, and partner with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supplier Quality to keep escapes out of our products and our customers’ hands.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Lead, develop, and grow a multi‑site inspection team covering incoming, in‑process, end‑of‑line, and MRB operations
- Own inspection throughput KPIs: receiving dock‑to‑stock cycle time, inspection WIP and aging, on‑time inspection completion, FAI turnaround, inspector utilization and capacity planning
- Maintain and apply quality control standards; train inspectors and document training records
- Partner with Quality Engineering on inspection plan creation, sampling strategy, and characteristic identification
- Support MRB activities by presenting inspection findings, providing measurement data, and executing dispositioned rework/scrap/return actions on the floor
- Support new product introduction by inspecting prototype and early‑phase parts, capturing observations that inform final inspection plans and drawings
- Interface with Supplier Quality and Sourcing on supplier performance issues surfaced at receiving
- Apply Lean methods to improve inspection throughput, reduce cycle time, and balance capacity across incoming, in‑process, and MRB queues
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field — or equivalent experience
- 7+ years in Quality within defense, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing
- 3+ years in a people management role
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and Quality Management Systems
- Proficiency reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Hands‑on experience with calibrated inspection equipment: calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauge pins/blocks, surface plates, CMM, Faro Arm, optical comparators
- Experience participating in MRB activities and executing NCR workflows (containment, segregation, disposition follow‑through)
- Experience writing and revising inspection work instructions and SOPs
- Experience managing inspectors across more than one site or shift
- Strong data fluency — pulling throughput and capacity data, building inspection dashboards, and using metrics to drive staffing and process decisions
- U.S. Person status (required for access to controlled data)
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
- Technical degree in mechanical, aerospace, or quality engineering
- ASQ CQE, CQA, or equivalent certification
- Experience inspecting subsea, marine, or pressure‑rated hardware
- Experience with…
