The City of Woonsocket is looking for a Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector. Reporting to the Director of Planning and Development and the Building Official, the person in this position is responsible for the conformity of all pertinent ordinances and regulations related to all residential and business installations, as well as the repair and alteration of all plumbing fixtures and plumbing mechanical systems completed in the City of Woonsocket.
Responsibilities- Review all drawings and specifications of all plumbing applications; issue permits and address complaints of all plumbing violations.
- Inspect all new and updated plumbing installations.
- Ensure compliance with all plumbing-related ordinances and regulations.
- Maintain current knowledge of pertinent plumbing codes and city regulations to ensure compliance with permitting and inspection processes.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED, along with five (5) years of prior experience as a plumber or plumbing contractor.
- Must possess thorough knowledge of all plumbing-related ordinances and regulations.
- Must hold Rhode Island Master Plumbers license, Pipe Fitter License, Master Mechanical License, Journeyman Contractors license, and Plumbers license.
- Must be certified by, or be certifiable as, a Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector by the State of Rhode Island Building Code Standards Committee; must maintain state certification during employment.
- Additional compensation consideration for applicants who possess a Master Refrigeration License.

- Salary: $1,307.69 per week

- Hours: 40-hour per week
