HVAC Sr Field Service Technician

Job Overview

As an HVAC Sr Field Service Technician at Honeywell, you will provide advanced technical support and service for HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment in various settings. This role reports directly to the Field Service Manager and is based in Woonsocket, RI or Canton, MA.

• Install, configure, and maintain building automation systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure system reliability.
• Participate in on‑site walk‑throughs, formal commissioning, and customer demonstration/training on projects.
• Provide onsite and off‑site technical support during installation, start‑up, commissioning, and turnover process. Complete programming and commissioning process.
• Oversee and/or assist with installation of control systems to control boilers, chillers, process water systems, RTUs, air handlers, etc.
• Run one‑off problems, scenarios, and integrations based on the needs of the customer.
• Develop and program graphical displays to monitor and adjust mechanical system operations (EBI Front End Command Control Interface).
• Perform system backups and install appropriate updates and patches.
• Apply knowledge of virtual machines, system imaging, and networking to serve customer needs.
• Complete required documentation for work performed or other contractual obligations.
• Proper use of safety personal protection equipment.
• Ensure security and other clearances as required by customer.
• Assist with design, estimating, and installation of building automation systems.
• Travel up to 100%.

• Minimum of 3 years of HVAC service and repair experience.
• Rhode Island electrical license.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and components.
• Proficiency in using HVAC diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Experience with commercial and industrial HVAC units.
• U.S. person status (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected status).

• Experience working on Windows operating systems, installation and configuration.
• Hands‑on experience with customer IT teams and networking infrastructure, including IP address and subnet configuration.
• Technical training and building automation controls experience.
• Programming experience in Tridium, Niagara N4 and integration with BACnet, LON, Modbus on chillers, boilers, VFDs, generators, rooftop units (RTU), VRF, and FAS.
