Job Summary
This position is a Master-level Technician who performs accurate vehicle maintenance and repairs for a fleet of light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, cost-effective solutions, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, transmission flushes, and mechanical inspections.
- Execute light and major repairs, including brake components, tires, tune‑ups, suspension systems, aerial lifts, electrical systems, and engine/drive‑line components.
- Diagnose and repair OBD II systems, state safety inspections, interior/exterior components, and complex hydraulic, electrical, and hybrid systems.
- Maintain shop cleanliness and adhere to safety protocols for fluid disposal and hazardous materials.
- Document all work in vehicle history and maintenance records.
- Assist in roadside assistance and coordinate with vendors for parts and repair services.
- Design, fabricate, and outfit equipment as needed, including welding and moderate fabrication tasks.
- Support specialized trucks, generators, and on‑board computer systems through troubleshooting and repair.
- Complete any additional duties assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or GED; additional education, certification, or 3–7 years of related experience may be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet or heavy‑vehicle maintenance (or equivalent).
- Master‑Level ASE certification preferred; commitment to ongoing training to maintain certification.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File for medium/heavy trucks.
- Experience driving vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions; ability to drive in fast‑paced environments.
- Physical abilities: stand, walk, reach, touch, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, climb, and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Working knowledge of DOT and CDL requirements for medium and heavy trucks;
Class A or B operator’s license may be required. - Valid DOT medical card with at least four months remaining, or a completed DOT physical if less.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a focus on quality and integrity.
- Problem‑solving ability for complex diagnostics and repair across light‑duty to Class A‑heavy applications.
- Competitive hourly base pay ranging from $32.31 to $48.46 per hour, with potential commissions and incentive programs.
- Paid time off: 6.67 hours per month, seven paid holidays, bereavement leave, jury duty, volunteer time, military leave, and parental leave.
