Staff Accountant

Emerald Resource Group is hiring a Staff Accountant for a growing, well‑established company in the Greater Wooster area. Working directly with the Controller, you'll get hands‑on exposure across the company's accounting and finance operations, with room to take on more as you grow. Great fit for an early‑career accountant who wants more than a narrowly defined role.

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile GL and balance sheet accounts
• Support AP, AR, and bank/credit card reconciliations
• Maintain inventory and cost accounting records
• Help with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Support external accountants, auditors, and tax requests
• Assist with fixed assets and process improvements

• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1–3 years of accounting experience
• Solid grasp of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Strong Excel skills; comfortable learning ERP systems
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and curious about how the business works

Manufacturing, distribution, or packaging experience is a plus, not a requirement.
