Qualifications:
Valid Ohio teaching licensure in the appropriate grade level and/or subject area is required, or the ability to obtain licensure. Master's Degree in Subject Area preferred. Training and experience in hands-on methods. Can articulate and demonstrate understanding and implementation of the Common Core State Standard (CCSS) and/or Ohio's New Learning Standards. Documented and proven ability to teach in a blended or flipped learning environment.
Previous experience/training with a learning management system (LMS). Shows evidence of frequent progress monitoring with proficiency in analyzing data to drive individualized, differentiated instruction. Training and experience in using cooperative learning, problem-based learning, thematic instruction, integrated planning, simulations and other models of teaching that promote students' engagement in their learning. Proven ability to design and deliver instruction for ALL learners, especially students with exceptionalities.
Has strong background in positive behavior management and can relate to the at-risk with families, parents, courts and social agencies that provide services to students. Experience with inclusion settings; co-teaching, team teaching, cross-curricular teaching, and Response to Intervention (RTI). Excellent evaluations and/or recommendations; strong interpersonal communication skills. Training and experience in goal setting. Ability and willingness to engage in ongoing curriculum development.
Candidate must be a highly qualified teacher. Familiarity with learning styles and multiple intelligences. Willingness to work as a member of a team-oriented faculty. Commitment to improving student performance as measured by the AIR Assessments, ACT, SAT, and other performance-based end of course exams.
