Our client is seeking a Buyer with 1–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, inventory, or materials planning. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants to play a key role in purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
This role goes beyond basic purchase order processing. The Buyer will work within an ERP system to manage purchasing activities, maintain inventory accuracy, support process improvements, and collaborate closely with production, supply chain, and inventory teams. Experience in a manufacturing or related industrial environment is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Create, process, and manage purchase orders within an ERP system, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
- Track purchase orders from issuance through delivery, proactively resolving supplier discrepancies, delays, or shortages.
- Maintain accurate SKU, part number, pricing, and inventory data within the ERP system.
- Collaborate with supply chain, inventory, and production teams to align purchasing activities with demand forecasts and production schedules.
- Support inventory control initiatives to optimize stock levels and minimize shortages or excess inventory.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and delivery schedules to ensure continuity of supply.
- Assist with ERP system enhancements, data validation, and process improvements, including support during ERP transitions or implementations.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze purchasing trends, manage data, and generate reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and inventory management processes.
- Support domestic and international purchasing activities as needed.
- 1–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, inventory management, or materials planning.
- Experience working within an ERP system for purchasing, inventory management, and purchase order processing.
- Understanding of purchasing practices, inventory control, and supplier management.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across multiple departments.
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or related environment.
- Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Experience with Net Suite, SAP, or similar ERP platforms.
- Exposure to ERP implementations, migrations, or system transitions.
- Experience managing a high volume of SKUs or part numbers.
- Exposure to international purchasing and supplier management.
This position operates within a manufacturing-focused environment and requires significant interaction with ERP systems and purchasing data. The role is highly collaborative, working closely with supply chain, inventory, and production teams to ensure materials are available to support business needs. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $26.45 - $31.25/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
