Position SummaryThe Controller serves as a strategic business partner to the Director Group Finance and VP of operation. Responsible for directing all accounting, credit and cycle counting at Wausau Equipment Company, Inc. Prepares reports that summarize, forecast and analyze company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expense and earnings based on past, present and expected operations and balance sheet.
Maintains systems of internal controls to protect the company’s assets and ensure the integrity of financial information. Plays a key role on the management team to help guide performance and facility / business direction.

- Oversee financial management, reporting, and analysis to provide accurate insights for decision-making.
- Lead initiatives to optimize and streamline accounting processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Advise the management team regarding key economic objectives, operational adjustments, and policy changes to improve the performance of the Company.
- Monitor and adjust reserves for inventory obsolescence and shrinkage, dealer and sales commissions, bonuses, bad debt, and other accounts as needed.
- Review pricing and analyze gross margin generation for parts and whole goods.
- Drive the development of comprehensive budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights to support strategic planning.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing effective controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure inventory integrity and cycle count performance. Safeguard the Company’s assets.
- Interface with Alamo Group, Inc. Director Group Finance, Corporate accounting staff, and other corporate departments as necessary (i.e., Tax, Information Technology, Payroll, Legal, Executive staff)
- Financial liaison with Internal and External auditors.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

- Highly proficient PC skills including financial spreadsheet analysis (MS Office/Word/Excel).
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required. CPA preferred.
- 7-10 years accounting experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment required.
- 5+ years supervisory experience required.
- Experience with JDE or a similar ERP system preferred.
- Experience with Hyperion or EPM Oracle preferred.
