Administrative/Exempt Twelve (12) Month Position, 260 Days Vacation & Benefits Eligible COMPENSATION: $61,500 - $70,725 Annually
DEFINITION:
The Communications Coordinator has the responsibility for developing, executing, and evaluating district-wide communications to support the district's missions and vision; increasing community and internal knowledge and awareness of the programs and accomplishments; communicating to target audiences; engaging the community through social media tools; writing and editing district communications and publications; and coordinating events. The Communications Coordinator must direct and coordinate all external and internal communications for the school district.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
- LEADERSHIP AND VISION:
The Communications Coordinator will lead the planning, strategies, methods, engagement, and maintenance of communication outlets with the community and staff as directed by the Superintendent to support the district's strategic and operational goals. The Coordinator will perform other duties as assigned by the superintendent that support district/building goals and responsibilities. - UNDERSTANDING EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT:
The Communications Coordinator will identify and promote best practices through communication and collaboration with the district leadership team. The Coordinator will build relationships with stakeholders and promote the vision for the district. The Coordinator will work with administrative staff to coordinate community forums, focus groups, and dialogue sessions as needed. The Coordinator will coordinate the activities related to school communication tools (i.e., maintain social media, the district website, and written publications) for the district.
The Coordinator will serve as a resource to administrators, staff, and parent organizations and as a liaison between the school district, board of education, and community partners. - MANAGING COMMUNICATION & SUPPORTING RESOURCES:
The Communications Coordinator will coordinate the use of e-mail, district websites, district social media, voice systems, and other forms of communication. The Coordinator will develop and distribute publications promoting the district, supervise recognition programs, and establish an ongoing relationship with the media.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
260 Days Per Year, Hybrid Work Permitted with Permission, some evening event coverage required LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:
