Main FunctionThe Clinical Manager, under direction of the department director, is accountable for creating and maintaining processes that cultivate team participation in assessment, planning, and implementation of professional practice. The role ensures safe, efficient, cost-effective, therapeutically effective, age-specific patient care delivered 24-hour. The manager serves as a role model for professional behavior, clinical skills, and customer service, holding staff accountable. In collaboration with the department manager, CNS, and/or educator, the Clinical Manager assesses educational needs of all staff and develops appropriate educational programs.
Direct patient care is required within scope of practice. The manager participates in fiscal management of the unit and acts as Unit Director in the director’s absence. All activities comply with hospital, Nursing Department policies, and the Nurse Practice Act of Ohio.

Must Have Requirements- Licensed in Ohio
- Maintain a current AHA BLS card while in this position
- 3 years relevant hospital experience
- Strong leadership skills and abilities
- Strong teaching and mentoring skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Support of unit and hospital leadership
- Positive, helpful attitude toward change
- Initiative and problem‑solving skills
- Professional nursing practice and behaviors
- BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program with completion within two years
- Clinical certification
- Experience as Unit Charge Nurse
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or airborne pathogens; required to wear barriers
- Ability to push, pull, lift, carry, turn, crouch, and bend as necessary for nursing tasks
- Certifications such as ACLS, NRP, PALS obtained within one year and maintained while in the position
- Maintain and monitor required NRP education for all staff
- Women’s Pavilion staff must be familiar with Electronic Fetal Monitoring documentation system and review charting regularly to ensure completeness
- Explore and research new products and evidence‑based patient care practices to implement
- Facilitate availability of health information and patient education resources for staff to use in patient/family teaching
- Ensure compliance with Ohio Department of Health for annual licensing
