Line Cook

Responsibilities

• Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
• Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
• Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
• Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
• Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.

We serve lunch and dinner and shifts might vary because of that and we will need someone who can work on flexible hours. We offer part time or full-time employment. We are closed on Sundays and all major holidays. Starting wages $12-$15hr

• High school diploma or GED
• One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
• Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred
• Experience with various cooking methods and procedures
• Familiar with industry best practices
• We are willing to train

• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Organizational skills
• Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
• Ability to work as a team member
• Follows directions and instructions

Broken Rocks Cafe and Bakery / Rox Gastropub is a family-owned business that has been in operation for 23 years. We are a successful scratch kitchen restaurant in the historic, thriving center of downtown Wooster. We have a strong emphasis on local, high-quality ingredients with partnerships with many local growers. Our menu includes a wide variety of entrees including house made sourdough bread to a diverse clientele.

Our staff works as a cohesive group to make that happen.
