Retail Store Associate

Summary / Objective

The Retail Store Associate is passionate about animals and their health. These individuals find motivation in greeting customers, identifying their needs, educating them on our products and recommending suitable products to improve the health of their animals.

• Greet and engage customers, identify their needs, educate them on our product offerings, and recommend suitable products to improve the health of their animals.
• Operate a computer, cash register and accurately and efficiently complete customer transactions.
• Accurately balance cash drawers.
• Stock and organize merchandise/front shelves.
• Monitor “dated” products and rotate as needed.
• Tag products and shelves as needed with labels and pricing.
• Keep the store clean and tidy.
• Participate in physical inventory.
• Communicate courteously and effectively with internal and external customers.
• Follow all company policies and safety guidelines.

• High attention to detail.
• Communication proficiency.
• High ethical conduct.
• Problem solving / analysis skills.

• Knowledge of animals, animal care, animal health, livestock preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and passion for your job.
• Willingness to learn about our products to better serve our customers.
• Previous customer service / retail experience preferred.

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

This job operates in a retail store.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms, and will regularly be asked to lift products up to 50 lbs.

This position can be full or part time with varying hours of work. Retail stores are open Monday through Saturday.
