Class A CDL Equipment Operator

Clean Harbors in Wooster, OH is seeking a Class A CDL Equipment Operator to operate a variety of heavy and light duty trucks and work equipment at our customer sites. The role involves driving and non-driving duties on and off customer sites related to hazardous waste clean-up.

Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required, no automatic restriction. Monday through Friday schedule, average start time between 6-7 am with overtime after 40 hrs. Some overnight travel with hotel and per diem provided. On-call as needed.

• Ensure health and safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed
• Operate a variety of Class A trucks
• Loading and unloading of trucks
• Manual labor on site to fulfill customer needs
• Proper placarding of vehicles to meet company and DOT requirements
• Maintain daily logs, timesheets, and various reports
• Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules
• Observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
• Observe all company environmental health and safety guiding principles
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week
• Be involved in site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials

• Valid Class A CDL
• Ability to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment
• Ability to use various mobile devices
• Perform physical functions per job requirements
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical exam, where required
• Meet facial hair standards per OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard for respirator use

• Commercial driver experience
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement
• Previous Hazmat experience
• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Previous manual labor experience
